Dehradun: On the first death anniversary of Himalayan

and journalist Kamal Joshi on Tuesday, a series of memorial lectures on his life and works were held here. The first lecture was delivered by Dr Shekhar Pathak, editor of Pahaad, the publication with which Joshi was associated for a long time. An

Pathak said that for sustainable development of the

Himalayas

, one needs to follow the thoughts of Kamal Joshi. “Joshi’s thoughts are a perfect reflection of the approach we need to take for the development of the state today,” he said.

Born in Chamoli district, Joshi captured the beauty of Himalayas through his lens. Anil Joshi, one of the organisers of the memorial lecture, said, “A photographer, a researcher, a photographer as well as a journalist, Joshi took on many roles.”
