DEHRADUN: Adding another feather to its cap, the team of Uttarakhand police continued to shine at the World Police Fire Games being held at Virginia in the US.
Head constable Kamla Bisht has now bagged a gold in the 57-kg category in boxing.
This has taken the tally of gold medal winners from Uttarakhand to six.
Bisht is currently posted in the 31 PAC at Rudrapur.

She was selected in the police force under the sports quota in 2006.
DGP B S Sidhu has announced a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for Bisht and would also recommend her name to the state government for a reward of Rs 5 lakh.
Among her list of achievements, Bisht had won a bronze in a national women’s boxing competition in 2008, gold in the Federation Cup Competition in 2009 and a bronze in senior women’s national boxing championship in 2010.
Earlier, Mukesh Rawat bagged a gold in three categories of 5,000 metre, 1,500 metre race and 3,000 metre steeplechase. Amit Chhetri had won a gold in the body-building category, while Manish Rawat won the 5-km walk.
Meanwhile, Chhetri was felicitated in a function hosted by Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi on Saturday. The function was held at the MLA’s residence and attended by sportsmen and locals.
