U’khand bowled out for 117 runs against Odisha

Trophy 2019-20, Uttarakhand’s team was bundled out for just 117 runs in its first innings at the DRIEMS Ground in Cuttack on Wednesday. After losing skipper Unmukt Chand as its first wicket, Uttarakhand couldn’t get back in the game and lost wickets at regular intervals. Six of Uttarakhand’s batsmen went back to the pavilion for a single-digit score. In view of the pace-friendly pitch, Odisha had won the toss and invited Uttarakhand to bat.

For Odisha, pacer Basant Mohanty took six wickets and bowled 10 maidens in his spell. He gave just 17 runs in 19.4 overs he bowled. Later in the day, Uttarakhand bowlers managed to give two early jolts to Odisha. However, Odisha batsmen — Shantanu Mishra and Biplab Samantray — took the innings forward. Till stumps, Odisha had put up 98 runs on the scoreboard losing three wickets. They will resume their innings on Thursday.
