Kanchan Kumari, 29, and Manisha Verma, 28, were among the contractual employees whose services were terminated by the administration of AIIMS Rishikesh last month without any notice.

Both women climbed atop the water tank on 4 am and refused to come down.

Informed about the situation, the management of AIIMS, additional district magistrate Prema Lal and police force rushed to the spot to convince the duo to come down, but they refused to listen.

The two women later threatened to jump off from top of the tank if anyone tried to stop them.

Moreover, while returning from the spot the administrative staff of AIIMS were allegedly attacked by other former employees of AIIMS demanding jobs.
