MUSSOORIE: Heavy tourist rush to Mussoorie in the second long weekend led to traffic jams across the town as all hotels packed to capacity.
Locals claimed that over 2 km long jam was seen from J.P. Bend, Kincraig, and GandhiChowk and then further on towards Zero Point and Kempty falls road. MotilalNehru road, Picture palace, and Mall road also witnessed periodic traffic jamsthroughout the day.
Commuters alleged that they were stuck in traffic for overan hour. "We got stuck in heavy traffic from Kincraig, and from thereonthere was a serpentine queue of vehicles on both sides of the road and it tookus over an hour to reach Gandhi Chowk," told Prashan Bhardwaj, a tourist fromNew Delhi. Shanker Singh Bisht, station officer, said, "We have deployed additional force but there is too much rush."
