RUDRAPUR: A day after additional director general (ADG) law and order, Ashok Kumar, said that the department will ensure full security for Padmaavat’s release in the state, the management of multiplexes in Rudrapur met senior superintendent of police (SSP) US Nagar, Sadanand Date seeking protection at their theatres. Meanwhile, the Kshatriya Mahasabha have said that they will submit a memorandum to the district administration seeking a ban on the film’s screening and would go to any extent if need be. Talking to TOI, Bharat Sharma, manager of the Waves Cinemas, said, “We have asked for security at the theatre for the release of ‘Padmaavat’ in the wake of a bandh call to stop the screening of the film by the Shree Rajput Karni Sena against the film.”Managing director of Rave Cinemas, Arjun Gupta, added, “The SSP has informed us that proper arrangements have been made and nearby police stations have also been directed to keep in touch with various big and small cineplex managements.”“We have proper security in the district and additional force has been kept ready. We urge the people not to indulge in any act that will violate the law and order situation,” SSP Date said.
