Shyam Benegal shares life tips with meritorious city students

DEHRADUN: A total of 73 meritorious students of classes VI to XII were awarded with a scholarship by Aviral Classes, one of the city’s premier coaching institutes for the preparation of IIT-JEE (Main and Advanced) and NEET at a formal ceremony held in association with The Times of India at Hotel Saffron Leaf on Wednesday.
The chief guest of the occasion was legendary film director Shyam Benegal.In his motivational speech to the students, Benegal said that “IITs have given the world some great men who have made the country proud.” “The quantum of knowledge in our country is extraordinary and it is evident that there is no dearth of talent,” he said.
He also shared some of his life experiences with the students. “My father once said that I have money to educate my daughters, but my sons may educate themselves.” He advised students to “work at turning your dreams into ambitions and be imaginative.” D K Mishra, director of Aviral Classes gave students some time management tips.
"Like you don't sleep without food, make it a habit to not sleep without studying. Remember that your marks are not a reflection of your IQ level but instead they show your preparation level.” Shubhankar Seth of Brightlands School who secured 727th All India Rank in IIT-JEE (Advanced) told TOI, “I feel really happy and overjoyed to see things going as per my plan.
