Shuttlers Bodhit Joshi, Lakshya Sen win bronze medals in int’l event


Dehradun: Uttarakhand shuttlers Bodhit Joshi and Lakshya Sen have brought laurels to the state after winning a bronze medal each at the Yonex Sunrise India Junior Badminton Tournament at Pune that ended on Sunday.

Sen, who is currently ranked eighth in the country in the Under-19 category, put up a tough challenge but was defeated by Thailand’s Pecharnal Jo in the semi-final match by 11-13, 6-11, 9-11.

On the other hand, Joshi, currently ranked seventh in the country in Under-19 singles category, also won a bronze medal in the doubles with his partner Mithun Manjunath. The duo was defeated by the pair of Krishna Prasad and Dhruv Kapila in the semi-final match by 11-9, 9-11, 6-11.

The tournament was played between September 1 and 4.
