Section 144 imposed in Haridwar

Haridwar: The district administration has imposed section 144 of the CrPC in Haridwar district and banned any protest march or agitation without permission. Police officials said that they have asked political leaders and social organisations to seek permission from the district administration for any protest, either in favour of or against the CAA and NRC.

SSP Haridwar Senthil Avodai Krishna Raj S told TOI, “Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in the entire district and we have deployed sufficient police force in several areas. We will take action against those who protest without permission. We have also asked local leaders of all communities to lend their support in maintaining law and order.”
