Ratnashila ‘cheating’ case: HRC asks dist admin and police about steps being taken
Times News Network Nanital: After students from Ratnashila Hospital and Paramedical Institute had alleged that they were “cheated” by the owner of the college, the State Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the district administration and police, seeking information on the status of the case. “The notices were issued by the chairperson of State HRC Virendra Jain and two others - Rajesh Tandon and Hemlata Daundiyal. The case was brought to their notice on March 2,” said Gurinder Chaddha, an RIT activist. An RTI filed by one of the students revealed that the institute, which promises six different courses including operation theatre technician, X-Ray technician and nursing assistant, has violated paramedical norms.Students told TOI that they were promised quality education and placements at the end of the year. However, the management kept advancing the date of the final exam after the session got over in August last year. The exam is still due. District officials and police department refused to comment on the matter and said they were not aware of any notice yet. No police case has been registered in the matter so far.
