DEHRADUN: Following the recent filing of a partial charge sheet by the state vigilance department against Satpal Kochhar and Krishna Kochhar, the owners of a popular hotel in Dehradun, for allegedly encroaching on 0.89 hectares of government land in the Jakhan area, the authorities are now examining whether the couple has encroached on more state-owned land estimated to be worth around Rs 50 crore.

Amit Sinha, director, vigilance and ADGP, confirmed that the "part-chargesheet against the couple and two retired accountants from the MDDA and Dehradun Tehsil office, accused of facilitating the encroachment, is only a part of the ongoing investigation".

"The department is currently probing other properties owned by the accused couple to determine if there have been additional encroachments. Legal action will be taken based on the findings," Sinha said.
