Dehradun: A group of 107 Pakistani pilgrims who arrived in Haridwar to participate in the 755th Urs of Piran Kaliyar were presented with a set of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, printed in both Urdu and Hindi, along with holy Ganga Jal and a replica of the Dargah.
The gifts were given by the chairman of the Uttarakhand Waqf Board, Mohammad Shadab Shams, as farewell gifts to the pilgrims from Pakistan.
Waqf board chairman Shams said, “Uttarakhand is the spiritual capital of the world, and from here, we want to send a message to our neighbours that we respect and welcome our guests, treating them as our gods. We respect and believe in our ideology of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means 'One World, One Family'." Ahsan-ul-Haq, leader of the group, said that they would hand over Gita to temples. Pankul Sharma
