Dehradun: A 42-year-old nurse at a primary health care centre in Rudraprayag district was killed after her car fell into a 100-foot-deep gorge in the Bhatwarisain area around 9am on Wednesday. Police said the accident likely occurred because she lost control of the vehicle on a straight stretch of road.
Kusumlata, from Srinagar, was driving alone to Agastmuni when the incident happened. Sub-inspector Mahesh Rawat of Agastmuni police station said, "The SDRF team went down the gorge and found the woman dead inside the car. Her body was then pulled up and sent for a post-mortem."
Rawat added, "Prima facie, it seems she lost control over the steering while driving. The road at the accident site is straight, without any turns or curves. A probe is underway."
