Sources indicate that the allegations pertain to irregularities in tender processes including that of Municipal Gardens, eco-tax collection barrier and tender of ropeway.
TOI tried to contact officials of the UDD but they were not available due to the Rakshabandhan holiday. Meanwhile, TOI spoke to Anuj Gupta, chairman of MMC who denied all allegations. "These allegations have been made with malafide intentions in order to defame me and there are no irregularities in MMC." He said that the tender for Municipal Gardens was issued at Rs 1 lakh per annum for the past 15 years which had been raised to Rs. 67 lakhs during his tenure.
