Nadda to chair U’khand BJP core committee’s 1st meet on Feb 14
Dehradun: Former BJP national president and union health minister J P Nadda will chair the first meeting of the newly constituted Uttarakhand BJP state core committee on Feb 14. The meeting marks the formal beginning of the party's preparations for the 2027 assembly elections, with BJP reiterating that "winnability" will be the sole criterion for ticket distribution.BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt on Sunday said this meeting assumes significance as it follows the recent reorganisation of the party's state unit and will focus on organisational strengthening, political challenges, and a roadmap for short- and long-term programmes. "The achievements of the double-engine govt at Centre and in state will be taken to the grassroots in a structured manner," he said.
As part of its outreach strategy, BJP is considering launching ‘Vikas Rath' programmes at the assembly constituency level to showcase development initiatives undertaken by Centre and state. The core committee is expected to finalise the framework for these programmes and allocate responsibilities to party leaders. Election preparations would include identifying key issues and sharpening the party's narrative.Emphasising performance-based ticket allocation, Bhatt said public acceptance and ground-level work would be decisive factors. "All MLAs and party leaders have been instructed to stay focused on their constituencies. Visibility of development work and organisational activity at the local level will be crucial," he said.BJP has conducted four surveys—two at the state level and two at the central level—to assess public sentiment, Bhatt said. "One survey report was already received and suggests that the party is in a position to improve its seat tally. Feedback based on these inputs is being shared with public representatives to plug gaps," he said.Dismissing the opposition's recent ‘mahapanchayat' as a "complete flop," Bhatt said it lacked both substance and public support. He claimed people saw through what he termed the opposition's "electoral theatrics" and would respond decisively in the 2027 elections.
