RUDRAPUR: Four persons, including the wife of a 26-year-old missing auto driver, whose body was recovered from a field in Preet Vihar colony in Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar district, were arrested for his murder, on Friday. Two other accused are absconding.

On Nov 16, Renu Srivastava (24) from Rampura colony had filed a missing person report at Rudrapur police station saying that her husband Sumit Srivastava had not returned home since the night of Nov 14. Police scanned CCTV footage which pointed to Ganesh Chandra (22) a resident of the same area.

SSP Manikant Mishra said, "Ganesh revealed that he was romantically involved with Renu and, at her behest, conspired with Vansh, Deepak Koli, Shivam alias Judi, and Govinda to murder Sumit. We exhumed the body on Nov 18. The arrested individuals were charged under relevant sections, including section 103 (murder) of the BNS."
