Leopard attacks 4 women within an hour in Pithoragarh village

Pithoragarh: Four women from Khatigaon village in Pithoragarh were attacked by a leopard within an hour on Wednesday while going about their daily activities in different parts of the village.
The injured, identified as Indira Devi (55), Padma Devi (52), Kastura Devi (39), and Meena Devi (30), were admitted to the district hospital. Indira was discharged after she received primary treatment.
Ram Singh, a local, said the noise raised by the villagers drove the leopard away.
Afterwards, the forest department's quick response team visited the village for an inspection. Pithoragarh divisional forest officer (DFO), Ashutosh Singh said patrolling has been intensified in the area and cameras have been installed to monitor the leopard's movement. He added that a cage would be set up to capture the leopard once it is authorised by the wildlife warden.
