ALMORA: A team of 30 members from the Kumaon Regimental Centre (KRC) officially kicked off an expedition to Mount Trishul, a towering Himalayan peak standing at 7,120 m above sea level, on Saturday.
Brigadier Gaurav Bagga, commandant of KRC, led the flag-off ceremony, marking the beginning of an ascent to one of the most challenging peaks in the region. A communiqque from KRC said that the expedition aims to reach the summit of Mount Trishul by the first week of October. The team is led by Lt Col Manoj Joshi, who has a distinguished mountaineering record, the communique said.
