Dehradun: In a major reshuffle, the Uttarakhand government has ordered transfer and posting of five senior IPS officers, including three of the rank of additional director general of police.
ADG Ram Singh Meena, who held the key charge of law and order, has now been made ADG administration, with additional charge of home guards. Anil Kumar Raturi, ADG (administration), has now been made ADG criminal investigation department, with additional charge of law and order.
Ashok Kumar, who recently returned from deputation, has been made ADG (prosecution and intelligence).
Ganesh Shankar Martoilya, who was given charge as DIG Kumaon a few months ago, has been shifted and posted as DIG, Ardh Kumbh Mela, Haridwar.
Crores of devotees are expected to converge on the banks of the Ganga at Haridwar during the Ardh Kumbh, set to start from January 14, 2016. Security arrangements for this is an elaborate affair. Preparations have already begun.
P S Sailal, DIG (intelligence) Dehradun, has now been appointed DIG, Kumaon range. DGP BS Sidhu has confirmed these transfers.
