Under the campaign, around 50 current and alumni students of the inter-college will be trained with self-employment oriented topics around the Corbett National Park. During weekends and vacations, the experts of various disciplines of fauna-flora and local environment will train these students for the next two years. ‘Gaon Chhodab Nahi’ was penned by Jharkhand lyricist and Padma Shri awardee Madhu Mansoori Hansmukh.

“While the knowledge obtained from the experts during this campaign will make the students are more sensitive to wildlife and their surroundings, it will also motivate them to seek self-employment. It can also be a means of stopping migration,” Navendu Mathpal, a teacher, told TOI on Sunday.

Four senior guides, bird watching expert and photographer of Corbett National Park - Rajesh Bhatt, Bachhi Singh Bisht, Deep Rajwar and Sandeep Giri - will provide training through workshops and park visits. Apart from this, students will participate in seminars on wildlife, where they will interact with scientists, environmentalists and learn from them.

Mathpal added that in the first week of March, students associated with the campaign will be taken to a summit on wildlife in Corbett Park where they will interact with senior scientists.

“We have promised to provide all possible help to students involved in this campaign. We have decided that every week we will take 15 students of this campaign and other local schools to Corbett National Park and introduce them to the wildlife,” said Ramakant Tiwari, warden at Corbett National Park.
