India Post honours Kumaun University with postal cover

Nainital: India Post has released a special commemorative postal cover to honour Kumaun University, Nainital, for its contributions to academics, research, and social development.Union minister of state for road transport, highways, and tourism Ajay Tamta was the chief guest at the event, along with Nainital MLA Sarita Arya, chief postmaster general Shashi Shalini, director of India Post Anusuya Prasad, and director of ARIES Manish Naja."This commemorative cover is more than a tribute — it symbolises Kumaun University's commitment to academic excellence and societal impact," said Tamta.Kumaun University VC Prof (Col) Diwan S Rawat said that the historic recognition immortalises the institution's contribution to education, innovation, and public service. Meanwhile, MLA Sarita Arya said, "Kumaun University has been a pillar of progress in Uttarakhand."Varsity Prof Neeta Bora said that the cover not only celebrates the university's past but also reaffirms its future as a beacon of higher learning and public service in the Himalayan region.
