High Court cancels KMVN tender order

Nainital: Uttarakhand high court, on Friday, cancelled a tender issued by the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) pertaining to transportation of pilgrims' luggage by mules during the Kailash Mansarovar yatra. The court also directed to conduct rebidding in the tender and directed the board to include only two bidders.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the HC had stayed the tender process while hearing a petition filed by Kundan Singh Bhandari, a resident of Pithoragarh district.The petitioner alleged irregularities in the tender process. Vipul Sharma, counsel for the KMVN said, "The honourable court has directed a rebidding into the matter on Saturday."
Notably, the petitioner had alleged that he was not awarded the contract despite the lowest bid.
