DEHRADUN: It turned out to be a narrow escape from former CM
Harish Rawat, who was hit by a speeding motorcyclist outside his rented accommodation at Old Mussoorie road in
Dehradun
on late Wednesday evening. On Thursday, CM
Trivendra Singh Rawat along with transport minister Yashpal Arya, visited Harish’s residence to inquire about his health.
In the meeting which lasted for 30 minutes, the CM asked about his predecessor’s health and offered his assistance if required.
Surendra Kumar, the media spokesperson for the ex-CM told TOI, “The incident was reported when he was taking an evening walk. The motorcycle rider lost control of the vehicle and hit him.” Kumar said that on seeing this, people in large numbers gathered on the spot. “The former CM ensured that the motor cycle rider left the spot safe and no one harmed him,” he said, adding that Harish suffered minor injuries and “there was nothing to worry about.” He appreciated the CM for visiting his predecessor’s residence.
