Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat suffers head injuries in road accident

RUDRAPUR: Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat's vehicle met with an accident while he was travelling from Haldwani to Kashipur on Tuesday night. Rawat sustained head injuries in the incident, he also complained of chest pain. The car also suffered damage.

Circle officer (CO) police BS Bhandari said, "The accident took place at around 12.05am when Rawat's car attempted to overtake a loader vehicle near Bazpur railway crossing and collided with a divider. We were alerted and arrived at the scene, subsequently, we took Rawat to KVR Hospital in Kashipur. After receiving first aid, he was discharged and proceeded to spend the night at Hotel Ananya in Kashipur".

Notably, Harish Rawat had a scheduled press conference in Kashipur on Wednesday.
