on Sunday afternoon. Police said short circuit in six rooms of the hotel sparked the fire. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Speaking to TOI, SHO Mussoorie, Bhawna Kainthola said, “Locals, police as well as fire brigade jointly helped to control the fire. The damages are yet to be assessed.”

It took an hour for the fire brigade to douse the flames and control the situation, residents said.

The road connecting Clock Tower to Mall Road was kept closed for vehicular traffic during the incident.

Meanwhile, the fire incident has yet again drawn the need for a fire service vehicle to be placed at the Municipal Council, as the nearest fire station is located at Gandhi Chowk.
