Female leopard suffering from pneumonia dies

leopard

rescued from Chaubatia-Nagpani area of Ranikhet has died on Saturday. Forest officials said the leopard was suffering from pneumonia-like conditions and had high fever.

“From the time when this female leopard was trapped by the forest department team, it was suffering from very high fever and was in a weak state. Treatment by veterinarians was ongoing but it died around 11:30 am on Saturday morning,” said Umesh Pandey, range officer at Ranikhet forest range.

The official said that due to snowfall and cold in the past days, this leopard may have been vulnerable to pneumonia. The leopard’s body has been destroyed after the postmortem.
