Down with Covid, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat shifted to hospital

chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who had tested positive for Covid-19 on December 18 and has been in home isolation since, was shifted to Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) on Sunday evening after he developed fever and was diagnosed with mild chest infection.

Dr NS Khatri from GDMC administration confirmed that the CM had been moved to hospital as a precautionary measure.

“The CM’s physician recommended that he be shifted to a hospital after he developed fever on Sunday. A chest scan revealed a mild chest infection. Therefore, he was brought to GDMC. A team of experts are treating the CM. He may have to stay in the hospital for a couple of days,” Khatri said.

To recall, the CM tested positive for Covid-19 barely two days before the Assembly session that started on December 21. Consequently, after contact tracing, his wife and daughter also tested positive for the virus.
