MUSSOORIE: A Dehradun resident accused of raping and blackmailing a woman was arrested on Monday. According to police, the victim had filed a complaint in Mussoorie on July 26 against the accused, Rahul Kumar (32). She alleged that he raped her after drugging her cold drink and made obscene videos. Later, when she got pregnant, he forced her to abort the foetus and blackmailed her.
“After the FIR was filed, we probed the matter and found proof against the accused. He was arrested from Dehradun and produced before the court on Monday,” said SHO, Mussoorie, Shankar Singh Bisht. The police booked the accused under sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 312 (voluntarily causes a woman with child to miscarry) and 384 (punishment for extortion) of IPC.
