DEHRADUN: After Prime Minister
Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun expressway project on Tuesday, Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said it would prove to be the economic lifeline for the Himalayan state.
“This is the 28
th visit of PM Modi to Uttarakhand, and in each visit, he has given something to the state. This time he has given this special project. Be it tourism, agriculture or industries, all sectors will benefit,” Dhami said.
“Today is special in many ways as Uttarakhand’s development has gained momentum with the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, while also marking the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar,” said the CM.
He said after 2014, India has touched new heights in every sector, including infrastructure, economy, women empowerment and national security.
Highlighting Modi’s close ties with Uttarakhand, Dhami recalled the PM’s visits—from Mana village and Adi‑Kailash to the Investor Summit, National Games, and Harshil‑Mukhba—saying these initiatives boosted the state’s identity and tourism, with growing footfall at places visited by him.
The state govt is pursuing all‑round development aligned with the “Vikas Bhi aur Virasat Bhi” (development along with heritage) vision to make Uttarakhand the country’s best state, said Dhami.
