Cong MLA booked for ‘misbehaviour’

ALMORA: A case has been registered against Congress MLA Madan Singh Bisht and a party worker at the Dwarahat police station. The complaint was filed by Krishnakant Singh Mer, the director in-charge of Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology.

In a countermove, MLA Bisht also lodged a complaint against the director in-charge. A video capturing the commotion following the MLA's late-night visit to the in-charge director's residence circulated widely on social media. Both parties approached the police on Sunday to submit their formal complaints. Cong names conveners, in-charges for 14 LS seats

IRS officer Rahul Navin appointed in-charge ED director as Sanjay Kumar Mishra's tenure ends

Rahul Navin, an IRS officer, has been appointed as the in-charge director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by the Indian government. This appointment comes after the Supreme Court deemed the extension of the tenure of the outgoing ED chief, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, as "illegal". Navin will hold the position until a full-time director is appointed or further orders are given. Mishra's tenure was set to end on September 15, but was extended for 46 days for "larger public interest".
