HARIDWAR: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the Gyan Diksha ceremony held at Haridwar's Dev Sanskriti University on Saturday. Addressing the 510 new entrants to the university on the occasion, CM Dhami said, "The world is looking up to India and you all have a duty to work for the development of the country. In the next 25, India will be in its 100th year of independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls these 25 years "Amrit Kaal" for Indians as our development in these years will define our position in the world when we complete 100 years of our independence."
CM Dhami, the chief guest of the event, also paid a tribute to Gayatri Parivar founder Acharya Shri Ram at the event. He said, "Acharya Shri Ram transformed the lives of millions of people and worked to bring about social awakening on a massive scale." The CM also released a catalogue of 3,500 books written by Acharya Shri Ram and a research journal on the occasion. Meanwhile, in his virtual address, university chancellor Pranav Pandya said that the "Gyan Diksha ceremony gives the students a new life. It offers them an opportunity to imbibe spirituality."
The new entrants to over 40 courses in the university include students from four foreign countries and 20 different Indian states.
