bypoll, scheduled for November 25, concluded on Saturday evening. The bypoll result is slated to be announced on November 28.

On the last day, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, state BJP president Ajay Bhatt and Almora MP Ajay Tamta addressed a public rally at Ramlila Maidan in Pithoragarh where they urged people to vote for BJP candidate Chandra Pant.

Congress candidate Anju Lunthi and other leaders, on the other hand, interacted with people in villages.

“On Saturday, 36 polling parties left for their centres. In 145 booths, 105,711 voters will cast their votes on Monday,” said Pithoragarh DM Vijay Kumar Jogdande, adding, “Ahead of polling, a suspension bridge at Jhulaghat, under Pithoragarh constituency, was sealed for 72 hours but other bridges are open.”
