Body of Andhra student at NIT Srinagar recovered from river after 4-day search
The body of a 21-year-old student of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar was recovered on Thursday by SDRF.
Dehradun: The body of a 21-year-old student of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, who had drowned in Alaknanda river, was recovered on Thursday after a four-day search by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), officials said.Anand Soham, a sixth-semester student from Andhra Pradesh, went missing on April 26 while bathing near NIT Ghat in Srinagar. The incident was reported to SDRF by local police around 4.20pm the same day.“Despite difficult river conditions, teams carried out search operations over several days. The body has been handed over to police for further procedures,” an SDRF official said.
