Uttarakhand: BJP councillor booked for 'thrashing' road contractor in Haridwar

HARIDWAR: A BJP councilor of

Haridwar Municipal Corporation

, Sachin Agarwal, has been

booked

for allegedly thrashing a local contractor.

As per the

police

complaint, Agarwal was unhappy as the contractor refused to give him a "cut" from the money he made by constructing a

road

in his ward. Meanwhile, city residents are unhappy with the "poor quality" of the newly-laid road and several other stretches. They have demanded an inquiry into the matter.
