DEHRADUN: The wife of Banbhoolpura violence mastermind
Abdul Malik has been apprehended from a village in
Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district.
Safia was detained in Biharipur village, Bareilly, by Uttarakhand Police. Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena mentioned her arrest was related to unlawful activities like plotting, construction, and land transfer using a deceased person's identity to seize government property in Malik Ka Bagicha, Haldwani.
Abdul Malik and son Abdul Moeed are already under arrest since February. The chaos erupted in Banbhoolpura, Haldwani, due to the demolition of an 'illegally' built madrassa and mosque, resulting in six fatalities and over a hundred injuries, including police officers and journalists.
