Army chief Manoj Pande releases book chronicling Central Command in New Delhi

Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande on Thursday released a book titled 'A Chronicle of Central Command - Savdhaan' in New Delhi and praised the Central Command, also known as Surya Command, for "the excellent compilation and documentation of the proud heritage and transitions with deep research and creativity".

DEHRADUN: Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande on Thursday released a book titled 'A Chronicle of Central Command - Savdhaan' in New Delhi and praised the Central Command, also known as Surya Command, for "the excellent compilation and documentation of the proud heritage and transitions with deep research and creativity".
The book has been authored by chief of staff, Central Command, Lt Gen Vivek Kashyap and Vikram D Souza.

The compilation has been designed and produced by The Times Group. Speaking on the occasion, Lt General Yogendra Dimri, GOC-in-C, Central Command, described the chronicle as a "humble tribute to all gallant warriors of Surya Command, past and present, who have contributed to the glory of the command and its current stature as a deeply revered and professional fighting force."
Since its rising in May 1963, the operational responsibilities of the command have grown significantly. The command ensures continuous vigil on the Line of Actual Control in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and encompasses an area of responsibility across eight states of the country's heartland TNN
