HARIDWAR: A 14-year-old student of a private school in Haridwar alleged that she was raped by the institution’s archery coach last year, prompting police to register a case under the
Pocso Act. The accused is currently on the run.
Police said the girl joined archery classes at the school last year. The coach, a
Haryana native, allegedly raped her in Oct, and threatened her to remain quiet. He then continued to harass her for months. She recently disclosed the ordeal to her parents, after which her father filed a formal complaint with police.

TOI, “A case was registered two days ago on behalf of father’s complaint. The girl was sent for medical tests. We’re investigating whether he targeted more girls. The accused will be arrested soon.”
