Ankit Rawat elected HNBGU's students’ union prez

: Securing 1,818 votes, Ankit Rawat from Jai Ho group defeated his opponent Rishabh Rawat with just 45 votes to become the new president of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University’s student union.

The polling for student union’s head started at 8 am on Tuesday and the poll count began at around 4 pm. The varsity managed to declare election results at around 7:30 pm. Around 51% of the 7,000 voters in the varsity cast their vote in the election.

While 65 votes were declared invalid, elections for the student's union president post recorded 74 NOTA votes.

Among other posts, Anmol Bhandari, who secured 1,989 votes, was elected as the vice president of the varsity’s students’ union and Pradeep Singh Rawat won secretary’s post securing 1,991 votes.

Meanwhile, Amit Singh Rawat won the join secretary’s post unopposed and Ankit Udholi was elected as the university representative.
