The book details 150 bird varieties found in and around Mussoorie. A special postal cover was also unveiled at the event organised by TOI at the Savoy in Mussoorie.Speaking at the event, Singh said that as many as 700 of India's 1,300 bird species are found in Uttarakhand alone and that the state should be developed as a premier destination for birdwatchers.

Kumar said his treks around Mussoorie while training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) inspired him to write the book.

A panel discussion featuring Kumar, veteran author and historian Ganesh Saili, head of forest force Dhananjai Mohan and anthropologist Lokesh Ohri was another highlight of the event.
