DEHRADUN: Incumbent BJP MLA and party's candidate from Yamunotri assembly constituency, Kedar Singh Rawat, has complained of "internal plotting" against him by some local leaders. He has alleged that despite attempts made by some party leaders to ensure his defeat, he would win the seat, albet by a reduced margin. Notably, Rawat has held the seat since 2007.

Speaking to TOI, Rawat said, "Some party workers worked against me and made efforts to ensure my defeat in Yamunotri. However, despite their attempts, we are winning the seat."

When asked for the names of the leaders who he thinks were trying to work against him, Rawat said, "I will raise the issue and furnish all details at the party platform when the performance of each assembly seat is reviewed later."

In the last one week, four other BJP candidates have also claimed 'internal sabotage' by party members to ensure their poll defeat. The first such allegation was made by the party's Laksar candidate, Sanjay Gupta. Soon after the culmination of polling in the hill state, Gupta accused party chief Madan Kaushik and his supporters of "cross-voting" in favour of BSP's Laksar candidate. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took cognisance of the matter and ordered an internal probe. Later, BJP's Dehradun Cantt candidate
