2 men on bike die in Roorkee road mishap
Roorkee: Two motorcycle-borne men died in a road accident near Roorkee's Manglaur area due to dense fog on Saturday night. Both were residents of Muzaffarnagar district in UP.Police said Lal Singh, 40, and Amrish, 35, were heading towards Roorkee on a bike along the Ganga canal, purportedly without a number plate, when a speeding vehicle hit them due to poor visibility. The impact threw both riders on the road, leaving them critically injured. They were taken to civil hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Police added Lal Singh was a home guard and a resident of Bijopura village, while Amrish was from Chhapar. Singh was Amrish's brother-in-law.Inspector Amarjeet Singh said, "The bodies were handed over to family members after postmortem. Efforts are on to identify the vehicle involved in the accident."An investigation has been initiated and police are scanning CCTV footage in the nearby routes to trace the "culprit".
