SPG reviews security for PM rally in Cuttack

Cuttack: A seven-member team of Special Protection Group (SPG) on Saturday reviewed security arrangements at the Baliyatra ground for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting on Monday. Officials of the district administration and the DCP were also present. “A coordination meeting with the SPG has held. A helipad has been demarcated near the venue,” said DCP (Cuttack) Prakash Raj. “No water bottles will be allowed at the venue and water tankers will be present near the venue,” he said. Roads from the helipad to the venue have been barricaded and security personnel will be deployed. Altogether 25 platoons of police have been deployed in and around the city. A special route has been demarcated for smooth flow of crowds, added Raj. Traffic personnel have been deployed across the route to streamline vehicle movement.

In Kanpur, the voting percentage was 52.90% despite ECI's efforts. 11 candidates, including BJP's Ramesh Awasthi, contested in Kanpur Nagar seat. In Akbarpur Lok Sabha, 10 candidates, including India Alliance's Alok Mishra and BSP's Kuldeep Bhadauria, vied for victory.
