Protest in CMC over allocation of kiosks

Cuttack: Opposition corporators staged protest during a Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) council meeting on Monday over alleged irregularities in allocation of kiosks at Chhatra Bazar.
The opposition corporators alleged involvement of mayor Subhash Singh and CMC commissioner Nikhil Pawan Kalyan in the alleged irregularities. Congress corporator Santosh Bhola said a committee had been constituted for spot allotment of kiosks. But Kalyan and Singh alloted the kiosks to people known to them, Bhola claimed, alleging “This shows the amount of corruption in the distribution of kiosks.”
“The opposition members are busy quarrelling,” said the mayor. tnn
