Pitambar Acharya takes charge as AG of Odisha
Cuttack: Senior advocate Pitambar Acharya (59) assumed office as new advocate general (AG), here on Monday.
Government advocate Jyoti Prakash Pattnaik was officiating as in-charge AG on orders of law department since Ashok Kumar Parija resigned from the post of AG on June 6 after fall of BJD govt in the state.
After taking charge, Acharya told the media justice for the common people through the legal process would be the focus area for him.

Acharya after post graduation in political science and getting a law degree from Utkal University (Vani Vihar) joined High Court Bar in 1991. He was designated as senior advocate (Orissa High Court) in 2011 at the age of 49.
Acharya contested on a BJP ticket against BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik from Hinjili in 2019. tnn
