HC junks PIL seeking boxing promotion by govt

Cuttack: The Orissa HC has disposed of a PIL filed six years ago seeking promotion of boxing in the state with a clarification that the judiciary has no authority to intervene in the matter. The two-judge bench of Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Justice M S Raman on Tuesday said, “We are of the considered view that it is primarily the executive function to decide as to which sport is to be promoted.” TNN
