Barabati set to host Eng ODI on Feb 9
Cuttack: Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will host an One-day International (ODI) between India and England on February 9, 2025, informed Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) on Thursday.
Barabati will conduct an ODI after a gap of over five years. It had last hosted an ODI match between India and West Indies on December 22, 2019. The England match will be the second of the three-game series in India.
“Barabati Stadium is scheduled to host the second ODI match between India and England on February 9 , 2025, here, out of the three matches of the ODI series in India,” said Sanjay Behera, OCA secretary.
“I had a talk with BCCI president, Jay Shah, 15 days ago, where he assured me to provide an ODI match at Barabati, which he has fulfilled,” added Behera.
He further said, “After a gap of five years, BCCI has decided to conduct an ODI here. It’s a privilege for the state and good time for cricket enthusiasts. The preparation will start soon, a meeting will be held in this regard for arrangements of the necessary measures to conduct the match,” informed Behera.
As per the released fixture, England will play five T20 Internationals and three ODIs in India during the tour, scheduled in January-February, 2025.
