Cuttack: World Junior championships bronze medallist Ayush Shetty edged out Indonesia’s Alwi Farhan in a thrilling three-game match to set up an all-Indian final against Sathish Kumar Karunakaran at the Odisha Masters Super 100 badminton tournament here on Saturday.Ayush won 19-21, 21-14, 22-20 to enter his maiden Super 100 final. On Sunday, Ayush will be up against compatriot Sathish, who will also be playing his first Super 100 final of his international career after he beat Kiran George 18-21, 14-21 in a 41-minute semifinal. The final tournament of the 2023 BWF World tour season will have Indian representation in four out of five finals with Unnati Hooda being the only one to miss out in women’s singles. She lost 16-21, 5-21 to former world champion and Olympic medallist Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. India’s Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa also advanced to women’s doubles final with a 21-17, 21-13 win over Indonesians Arlya Nabila Thesa Munggaran and Agnia Sri Rahayu in the semifinal.
