4 jaundice cases surface in Cuttack

Cuttack: Four people from ward no. 52 of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in Rajendra Nagar are suffering from jaundice, said CMC sources. Additionally, more than 40 people in the locality have been tested by the municipal body for the disease.“My son Amlan Panda (20) has tested positive for jaundice. Three more people from the locality are also suffering from the disease for the last 15 days,” said Prasanta Panda, a resident of Rajendra Nagar.Sushil Das, a resident of ward no. 52, said most of the drinking water pipes in his area are exposed to drains, where the water is likely to get contaminated. “A team has been sent to the spot. The cause of the disease will be examined,” said mayor Subhash Singh. tnn
