Youth held for killing lover’s 3-yr-old son in Tamil Nadu

Salem: The Annathanapatty police on Saturday arrested a youth for murdering his lover's three-year-old son by banging the boy's head against a wall when he cried during their clandestine meeting. An investigation officer identified the arrested person as K Tamilarasan, 22, a daily wage labourer from Kitchipalayam. He said Tamilarasan was having an affair with Shanmugapriya, 23, wife of G Pasupathy, 28, of Kaligounder housing board area. "Tamilarasan went to meet Shanmugapriy on the night of January 22. When the boy cried during their meeting, Tamilarasan banged the boy's head against a wall. The boy was rushed to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital the same night. Doctors were told that the boy suffered head injuries after he fell off a bike. During examination, doctors found that the injuries were not consistent with a bike accident and alerted us," the officer said. Investigation revealed that it was Tamilarasan who caused head injuries to the boy. "The boy succumbed to his injuries without responding to treatment at the hospital on Friday night. We registered a case of murder against Tamilarasan and arrested him on Saturday morning. We have launched a manhunt for Shanmugapriya, who is on the run," the officer said.
