DHARMAPURI: Two youths died and another suffered injuries when a motorcycle they were riding triple on rammed the median of the Harur-Salem road near Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district on Thursday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Vignesh S, 23, and Madhankumar M, 19, of Elandakottapatti. Their friend, Sundaram S, 23, suffered injuries.
“When they reached near Kumarakottam wheat mill, Vignesh lost control of the motorcycle, which rammed the road median,” said an officer at the Pappireddipatti police station. The all three were thrown off the two-wheeler.
Vignesh and Madhankumar died on the spot. Sundaram, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Pappireddipatti Government Hospital for first aid and later to Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital.
The Pappireddipatti police registered a case.
